Installing an IPTV Player on Your Firestick, Step by Step
Fire TV devices do not carry IPTV player apps in the Amazon Appstore, so the players are installed using Downloader. The whole process takes about ten minutes and only needs your remote.
Before you start
- A Firestick, Fire TV Stick 4K, Fire TV Cube or Fire TV built into a television
- A stable internet connection — 15 Mbps or better for HD, more for 4K
- The activation details from your provider: server URL, username and password
Step-by-step
Turn on installation from unknown sources
Open Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options, then switch on Install unknown apps for Downloader. If Developer Options is not listed, go to Settings → My Fire TV → About and click the device name seven times to reveal it.
Install the Downloader app
From the Fire TV home screen search for Downloader, install it from the Amazon Appstore, open it and allow the storage permission it asks for.
Fetch your player app
In the Downloader URL box type the download address for the player you intend to use — IPTV Smarters Pro, TiviMate or another compatible player — and press Go.
Install it
When the download finishes choose Install, then Done. Delete the installer file when Downloader offers to, so it does not take up storage.
Sign in with your details
Open the player and pick Login with Xtream Codes API. Enter the server URL, username and password exactly as they appear in your activation message — they are case sensitive.
Wait for the first load
The channel list and programme guide download on first launch. This can take a few minutes; leave the app open until it finishes.
Start watching
Open a category from the Live TV section. Your layout, favourites and guide settings are saved for next time.
Tips that save time
- A wired connection through an ethernet adapter is noticeably more stable than Wi-Fi for 4K playback.
- If playback stutters, restart the Firestick from Settings → My Fire TV → Restart before anything else — it clears most temporary issues.
- Fire TV devices fill up quickly. Removing apps you do not use frees memory and improves playback.

Does this work on the Firestick 4K and Fire TV Cube?
Yes. The steps are identical across Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Stick 4K, Fire TV Cube and televisions with Fire TV built in. Only the menu wording differs slightly between Fire OS versions.
Why is the player not in the Amazon Appstore?
Most IPTV player apps are distributed by their developers outside the Appstore, which is why Downloader is used to install them. Downloader itself is a normal Amazon Appstore app.
Do I need a VPN?
A VPN is not required for setup or playback. Some people use one for general privacy on their home network; if you do, choose a server close to you, because distant servers add latency and can cause buffering.
